On which CSV step eats the time: in my reading it&#39;s the user requirements specification, not because writing it is slow, but because writing it badly taxes everything after it. The common shortcut is copying the vendor&#39;s feature list into the URS. Then the traceability matrix maps requirements nobody has to features nobody uses, IQ/OQ/PQ tests things irrelevant to your process, and the genuinely critical requirement, the one specific to how your lab works, is the one nobody wrote down. A URS built from your actual process, what data enters, who approves what, what must be reconstructable later, keeps validation scoped to reality, and the matrix nearly writes itself. The step that feels most skippable is the one that prices all the others.
